I'm using an R4(firmware V1.11) and the E version of the ROM, and I've no troubles with freezing or anything like that.
thanks heaps champ ive turned on all the m3 aspects such as cheats slow mo soft reset and it froze right befroe the frog battle so i really dont see what the hell is wrong with it do u think they'll encode a better one?
well as of right now im about 95% sure that theyll do a better one. the realease date is april 22 so head on over to the site where you got the old one and look for the usa labeled one and lets hope it works for us cause i really wanna play this game.

I too have this problem.. after the frog fight the game gets stuck in the cutscene that followed. I've also got the pal rom but I DO have a european DS Lite so.. :S I'm using the N5 with firmware 1.17 installed & i've tried the game with softreset on & off..
I found that if you press select just before the first battle then close and open the DS until it gets past the cut scene then the first battle will initiate. After that just save your game when you get the first chance and play the game from there. I just tried it and it works. You might need to do it a few times though took me a couple of tries myself but it's working now.
One more thing.. after you get past that the opening cut scene will also glitch once the second guy shows up. I haven't figured out how to pass it but I think its the same way because it glitched at a point ahead of that when I opened and closed the DS. I suppose you gotta time it to bypass the glitch like before. If anything there's a save file that you can download and put on your DS so you can just play the game from that point. It sucks I know but either way you'll miss out on the introduction of the game.
o man this is frustrating. i was really looking foward to this game but it looks like there no hope for m3 real users. idk i dont wanna give up because if i find a way i want to share it with people so they can play it to.so please people keep the suggestions coming and thanks for all the help.
Try this this for M3 real... 1- make sure the soft reset is off 2- start the game with Y (download play) I got past the 1st battle without freezing... and hopefully i will work throughout the game... i'm off to play more of this game... have fun.......
I hope this works for all cutsecnes because I actually played on my friends m3 simply today and got farther but it still frooze at another cut secne.
Yup.. also for N5; 1.17, if u close it at the cutscene a couple times it wont freeze. And after that it doesnt freeze at any other cutscene either just works beautifully.
Here's a tip. Buy the game. This forum is about playing backed up games you own, not downloaded games.
I've tried the "close and open" method during the CS, but haven't had any luck. Any specific points at which I should close/open it, or how many times/how frequently?
First off..."fraust" there no need for u snide remarks...u clearly saw whwat the thread was about so there was no reason for u to say that.. Ill do things my way and u do things urs...don't try and mount ur reasons on top of mine.... Anyway I want to help u people having problems with this so... I've recently tried somthing new with this game..... I played on my friends m3 simply and got past the cutsecne...it now works just fine so....try that and it is gaureented to work.
@ alpha_noj; with me it used to crash in the CS when neku & the white-haired guy ran towards & crossed each other. I just closed it like 2 seconds before that point, but i didnt open & close the ds completely; i closed it to the point where the screen went off then opened it back up a little till the screen went back on again & then closed it and repeated that 2 times lol and then it just went passed the point where it usually crashed. Immediately worked the first time i tried it.
