    hi,

    i've got a problem (doesn't everyone). I was trying
to do a software mod on my xbox and accidentally tried
to create linux partition in drive F:. As I found out
my drive only had 8 gigs (so F: is non-existent) and it
screwed up hard drive's partition table, so it would no
    longer boot up.

deciding to go the modchip route, i got and installed
eXecuter 2.3Lite, flashed bios, changed the harddrive
to a bigger one and am in a process of getting xbox
    to play with it.

after reading some posts about upgrading HD, i found
out that i need certain files from my old HD (which
obviously i can not use). I found most of the .bin
files on Slayer's CD, together with evox Dash. I was
also able to create hddinfo.txt, since i've backed up
my hard disk info before doing soft mod. The only
file i am missing is 'hddkey.bin', which i can't seem
    to find anywhere.

question: is this file HD specific (i hope not) or can
it be created (i have the output of xbox_tool -a). or
am i out of luck and should throw my xbox out the
    window :(

any help would buy you a beer :)

    ok, problem is resolved...
i had to reflash my bios again (it seems something
gone awry the first time) and then rebuilt HD. It
seems to be working now :)
