I'm getting ready to buy another computer. I need to which processor type is better; Intel Pentium 4 or Intel Celeron D 340? Both are 2.93 Ghz. I do a lot of digital stuff. So I want to be able to burn a movie while still surfing the web.

Neojapan, wouldn't you have to change motherboard if the origingal processor wasn't a P4 w/HT?

depends on his mother board as how new it is. on my old p4 board, it wouldn't run a celeron d but would on the regular celeron. ht i think is with the prescott dye & not the northwood dye & i had the northwood celeron. changed the board & now running the celeron d.
