What? Are you insane? Do you really claim that we don't have everything you need? If so, try to convince us by pointing out a site that has something multimedia related information we don't have (yet ;-)...
Yes, I must be insane because I know of something that isnt on here. Do you want to know what it is? Well I'm gonna tell you anyways so shutup and listen. Its programming. Why not have a C, C++, HTML, etc. section? So people can just post a quick question about how to code this or that.

The reason I thought of this is because I want to take up C++ as a hobby but I dont have a clue where to start. It seems like there is no good tutorial that will get you going without just throwing you out there and saying "swim". I have a very small understanding of HTML and an even smaller concept of PHP. But I'm not sure what is a good basis for learning such a complex programming langauge. So I guess I'm gonna go ask in the "all other topics" section.

Now you can talk and tell me why or why not. Go on, tell me. Whats the matter? Thats it, click the "reply" button.

EDIT- fixed some stupid grammer mistakes.

I'm not sure I do.. Your quote clearly has the words "mulitmedia related" in it. C++ and other programming don't really have much to do with mulitmedia.
I remember AD being for dvd backups, audio issues and a little pc hardware and software related to burning and ripping..
I don't think any one site covers everything, and I don't believe it is a good aim. There are many sites that specialise in coding and website building. They are quite brutal to people who come along with lamer questions having done no research and having no concept of the problem.
I would probably be involved in any scripting/programming forums here, along with one or two others (hi guys) but mine, and their approach would most likely be equally hard.. soooooo.. No.. I don't think it's an area AD should expand into

Ok, you win. But I have a good excuse, I have been having lapses in judgement lately. Well, in context its a good excuse. Been busy here so thats why. Anyways, thanks for those other sites. I guess I'll go check them out right now since I actually have some time.

Yup.. Try ozzu for website building.. The templates, guides and resources are some of the best I have ever seen..
Friendly and helpful members, nice community.
I just shuddered at the thought of another heap of n00bs with "how do I do ***" questions and flaming and and and..

It's such a vast area and there are only a few of us who could field questions on coding, and as everybody has learned from a different starting point I bet we all have our own cheats and shortcuts that are non-standard.

It is an area I think could be developed in the future, but not really with the current competency level of the majority of people asking questions here.. I mean some of them need a walkthrough guide to clicking one button..

Lol, I see your point. You wouldnt believe(or maybe you would) how many people dont know of that little "edit" button for their posts. So they just keep posting and posting and... til they fill up the whole thread with multiposts. Well, not really. Thats an exageration but its still pretty bad.
