PSU HELP

    OOPs, Yeah you did respond, I'll send you the specs on my computer when I get home and if you have time, just give me some basic steps on where to start. I read through the thread, still a little unsure excatly where to start.

    is there anything else i could do apart from trying another fan there seems to be nothing wrong with the fan as i got one and took it back as i thought there was a fault with the 1st one when it said no signal

    Why only the fan? I thought we established the problem was with the power supply?

    yes sorry i meant the power supply i have taken all the cables out and re connected them and i have no idea what else to do please help

    I really think you should try a diffrent power supply, borrow one from your friend or get the one you have tested.
    You really have to find out if that power supply is good ot bad.

    Indeed, and it probably is the power supply as well, even if it's new.

    i have just tried a different power supply and it is still doing the same

    Are you using the onboard video or do you have a seperate video card?

    pizat, if your using a seperate video card, make sure you haven't got your vga cable pluged into the motherboard video output.

    no its just the one what came with it any other ideas ? i really need the computer going again

    try clearing the cmos as i've found that to work on occasion to kick start a stubborn board.

    read your motherboard manual as it will tell you the location of that cmos jumper & what to do.

    here is a link to the manual, look at page 13 and 14, it shows the location where the cmos jumpers are and how to reset it.

    Do you have a separate graphics card or are you using onboard video?

    just the normal one so it will be onboard
