   If I have a 6.2 gig movie and copy it to my dvd-r to 4.7 gigs, is there a noticable amount of decrease in quality? I'm guessing DvdXcopy automatically compresses it to fit on one disk.

   it sure does. Try using DVD Shrink, that way you can leave out extras and menus and credits and may get a better quality movie.
