About the profile pages, just a little thing. When you edit anything in your profile and come to finalize ur post, two buttons "cancel" and "save". Can u switch the order, i have clicked on cancel many times by accident. i dont know if dRD is left-handed so that may be why.

    @ mlinuxko
Yesterday the user "doggy_bot" started a thread in the safety valve called "are you a vampire or a werewolf" or something along those lines. One of the Finnish mods "Jannejt" told doggy to stop spamming and creating useless threads. The last post I read out of that thread was doggy saying how am I spamming? When I looked this morning I see the same thing as you have. It's like the thread is still there but can't be clicked on by anyone. The mods probably are still deciding whether to keep the thread open or not. Also on doggy_bot's profile page he says he's taking a weeks break from AfterDawn.

dRd and all I do care for the shout-box, it is a good idea..with some bad results.
It is a fact you can be spammed, insulted, offended with out a way for us to remove the offensive comment to the shout-box…. with out a delete switch to remove the offensive comment to the shout-box to me it’s a bad idea.

But you do have control of your own shoutbox ireland, you can delete people's posts as you wish.. just hit the [IMG] icon :)

Anyone else having problems uploading a pic this weekend? I was able to upload 1 but I deleted it. When I try to upload now I either receive a page saying 'problem' or it brings the page to put the info in but where there pic should be it says 'thumbnail not available'.

if you have already uploaded the pic...and it says thumbnail not available, that just means it needs more time to make a thumbnail. the pic should already be uploaded, if you click on it for the full-size image u should see it.

At this very moment, I cannot access any of the profile pages, not even my own. Is it just me, or is everyone in the same boat?

Ah, that's ok then, its probably just under construction, after all, it is still in beta stage.

Just glad I'm not the only one :)

    @kinza
Tried that earlier - even after 10-15 mins still said unavailable - clicking on it just gave me a page saying 'problem'. The one I uploaded yesterday was available in a min or less. Oh well still beta.
Now the same 'error occurred' is happening in the forums also.

what about getting a notification by e-mail that your shout box has received a message??? it gets to be time consuming to have to look at your profile every so often to see if you have a message in there!

I just have one little suggestion.

Since the launch, we already have an influx of newbies asking questions & posting emails in the shoutbox. Can we have some sort of feature applied in that two people have to mutually agree to add each other to their buddy lists in order to post messages in each others' shoutboxes?

And if someone removes somebody else from that list, then they can no longer post in their shoutbox?

just a sugestion to curb spam..

I hear ya Lethal. Must be frustrating having newbies asking questions in ya profile.

It is. I already have 7. I know I can delete them, but it is only a quick fix rather than a deterrent

I have had a couple myself. I like the concept though. The personal interaction among AD friends is refreshing. Keep up the good work AD.

I prefer the blacklist ("allow all people, but not those on my blacklist, to post their comments to my shoutbox") method over whitelist ("allow only people who I have previously approved to post to my shoutbox").

Anyway, moderation of profile pages is something that we'll focus with our development during the January (in addition of other things) and will most likely add "reporting capabilities" to the system, similar to the forums' "report an offensive post" system, which would allow mods to ban people who are abusing the system.

Additionally, pictures will have a new option "provocative/possibly offensive" that would allow semi-nudity, etc exist, but make it so that only people who have logged in and agreed to view such content can do so, which would not put too tight resitrictions on posted content on profile pages, but would still keep the site child-friendly.

    That's even better.

Methinks the moderators will have their work cut out. There are a lot of members, and they are already busy.

I like that one, very much :)

@dRD - Slightly off topic, but how come we can use hotlinks & thumbs in the Profile page but not in the forums?
