question about clonedvd and menus

i was able to put the extras w/ a working menu on a disc by itself and the main movie w/ a menu on a disc by itself but when i click "play movie" i just get a blank screen. the movie is there because it started to play when i hit stop on the remote and started it again. i just couldn't get it to play from "play movie." is the "play movie" icon not supposed to work when u split a movie like this?
