does someone know what the earliest manufacturer date is on the xbox v1.6? my friend wants to buy an xbox and get it modded, but i don't know anyone who will touch the v1.6 because of the difficult solder points. he is going to buy it used, and is a little bit leary about it because some of the earlier manufactured ones may have a lot of use on them compared to more recent versions, so he thinks the possibility of it taking a crap sooner than later is higher. if someone could list the manufacturer dates of all the versions, that would be preferable (or if you could refer me somewhere where a list is posted i would really appreciate it. thanks in advance!
It's really tough to get an earlier version new. Team Xecuter has a great lpc rebuild board that makes the job real easy. Factory refurbished models are still out there, but you still run into dvd roms with many hours on them. 1.6 isn't as bad as they say. PM me if you want some more info.
