    Hi,

    I have Sony DCRHC30,
I want to create CVCD. I used several variants and finally the best for me to do is:
Capturing througg Firewire using Windows Movie Maker to AVI-DV and later using Ulead Video Studio to create SVCD from AVI-DV. The quality is relatively good, BUT I wanted to ask if someone could offer me better Software for capturing/encoding.
My PC has 2.8GHz Proccesor and 512 MB RAM.

    Thanks.

Firewire is fast enough, and so is your computer, to capture directly to mpeg-2, in native SVCD 480x480 format. You would not need to then convert.
Try Intervideo WinPVR, Ulead DVD Workshop 2 (or 3), or Mainconcept PVR, as three other options. They all have demo downloads.
