Is there a special add-on or an application, possibly web based, that I could use to co-browse websites with my friend? I've heard about and tried Windows desktop sharing, but in this case, it's not a good choice?
Ripper -> Are you a native English speaker? By co-browsing I mean that I'm able to see my friend's browser view and what he's doing at the moment. So we're kind of "surfing the internet together".
We tried to find something like that with my friends but there's really no application for sharing the browsing view that would work for all of us. Searching google with "surfing the internet together" and similar doesn't help at all - I could find nothing worth checking. We tried with the Windows desktop sharing but it's just too heavy and requires a fast lan. I've heard Ubuntu has a similar desktop sharing but the problems are the same with the connection and performance.
You can do that with any remote-access desktop software. It's usually used for security purposes in companies so I don't know how easy it is to get a hold of.
