Question to audiophiles and the like

    I had an idea to buy a ww2 headset and replace the guts to modern pieces. Anything in the exterior will be the same but I wanted to update the jack, actual headphone, and the wires.

    Not sure if anyone would really know about this, but how difficult does it sound? The actual wiring I know how to do. It would really be opening it up and fitting the new headphones that seems like an issue.
