Hi... here is what I need to know... we have digital cable through time warner and the high def dvr as well that they provide. I have a splitter that splits the initial cable connection so 1 line goes to the dvr and the second goes to a dvd recorder. Both systems then out put into the samsung hdtv.

We want to scrap the dvd recorder and get a hdd dvr recorder and we were looking at the Pioneer DVR-660h-k which dosent have a built in atsc tuner.... but from what Im reading that really dosent matter since I already have digital cable....

Will this work in recording all of our tv shows including the HD ones or do I need something else like a QAM tuner ? Thx
