Okay, I use the AnyDVD/CloneDVD (both latest versions) combo. My process is to do a complete backup. I clone everything except the opening trailers and the copy protection. Such DVDs include the following:

    Complete Monty Python Anthology

    Scrubs Season 1

Clerks (both the movie and the short-lived cartoon)

    Mitch Hedberg bonus DVD

    OHM bonus DVD

    1) A couple of these discs are dual layer. I checked their content before the cloning process to make sure. According to Windows Explorer, these discs have roughly 7.30 gigs of data. Yet, when I burn an image, explorer tells me it has only roughly 4.50 gigs of data. I want to stress that I did NOT eliminate anything else besides the copy protection and trailer. When I run the image, the disc appears to play in its completeness (though it goes right to the main menu).

Now this would be okay and dandy if I had enough room to store these images on my comp. But I don't. So no biggie. I'll burn them to DVD, right? Even if I can't watch them on a player (which I've heard can be tricky to do), I can keep them until I want the image back on my computer, right?

But there's a problem whenever I try and put a disc that I burned with CloneDVD (to note: sometimes I went right from original disc to new disc, other times I burned an image first before burning it to disc. But I always used CloneDVD in every step of the process.). The discs aren't recognized by my comp. I can't access them or open the files. This happens with every burned DVD I try, and CloneDVD had reported a successful burn for all of them.

Is it possible somehow to access the data on those discs? And if not, how do I do things in the future to get it right?

    @ThePezman
    Welcome to aD!
I'll go in the order of your questions - I'll have a few for you too :)
    1. Sounds like you have CloneDVD set to DVD-5. This will compress the movie to fit on a single layer disc - which holds 4.38 gig. Are you using dual layer or single layer discs?
    2. I can keep them until I want the image back on my computer, right?
Yep - but as you know the space runs out pretty fast.

    3. This last problem sounds like the brand of discs you're using/burn speed and firmware may need an update.
So what's the make & model of your burner? Firmware version? (can be found on last screen of Clone next to your drive - something like: rev. VS08).
    How about burn speed?
What brand of discs are your using? Are they - or + R?
To access the data on the discs try isobuster and rerip to your hard drive.
