Hello, I am having some problems with quicktime. When I open a file, everything seems normal, but then when I click play, the windows error sound plays and Quicktime closes without notification. I have tried reinstalling quicktime, i have even tried reinstalling iTunes, but it still is having problems. Any help would be much appreciated.

Try a system restore, to a time before the problem started.

If the restore does not work, you can simply undo the restore.

Well I am looking for a way to fix it without restoring. Possibly a manual registry edit?

Perhaps you've got system recovery confused with system restore? What were you doing when you first noticed the problem? Have you added any new software or hardware to the system? A registry edit is not practical for this type of issue.

I heard there is a virus on Quicktime, have you updated to the newest one?
