Afternoon all I'm new to this so apologies for any stupid questions. I'm running Nero 7 with very few problems, except 1. Whenever I quit Nero, I always get an error along the lines of "memory at address blahblahblah cannot be read. Click OK to copntinue or Cancel to debug" So far. I've always clicked OK to just leave and it doesn't seem to cause any problems, but it would be bnice to know the cuase. I'm running an XP Home Sp2 machine.
Hi rmg1 Try doing a clean install of Nero and install the latest if your not using it - 7.8.5.0. Uninstall nero - run the clean tool. Reboot - now run a registry cleaner like the free ccleaner. Use the issues and cleaner options. Install Nero again.
This was a first time install of Nero. I've only just started using it so didn't have any old versions to uninstall.
Ok which version of 7 are you using? An update if not using the latest or a clean install my do the trick. To find the version click on the icon in the bottom right hand side of SmartStart - kinda looks like has a flame in it. In 'version' next to Nero Burning Rom is the version you have - the latest is 7.8.5.0.
Just checked which version I've got, and it is V7.8.5.0. I've uninstalled it using the uninstaller and reinstalled, but still having problems.
I will stick my 2 cents worth in here...I personally do not like 7.8.5.0...I use and recommend 7.5.9.0.
@rmg1 Ok since the reinstall didn't help you can try an earlier version as gwen suggested. You can get them here at aD - link. The error means that some other program is accessing the same address of memory that Nero is. Not causing problems now but might if it's an actual bad memory issue. You can also try closing all programs when burning and see if you still get the error message. If you don't then that would tell you it's with another program running. Then there's they possibility that this version of Nero is causing you a conflict somewhere. @gwen What problems did you have with 7.8.5.0? Can't say I've had any problems since they fixed the mp3 audio thing going back to a 7.2 version.
@binkie7, mainly freezing when doing AVIs with NeroVision...more than I was willing to accept, Cheers. BTW: I see so many log files with a "write error" but cannot see any reason when I read the log.
I don't think the write errors are due to the version - that error has been pretty common since nero logs Nero gives a good snap shot but doesn't give a full picture on what's really going though most burning errors are media, firmware or dma related. So taking care of those usually does it Not always but probably the majority of times. Haven't had any problems w/ Vision freezing - I'll have to keep that in mind if I see it pop up - txs!
Karen, saves me typing this again http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/497718 BTW have a look at my Nero speed results in that other thread
Morning folks Uninstalled nero last night, rebooted and reinstaled. Touch wood, no memory problems so far and I burned a couple of DVD's without a hitch.
