r232 cable (null modem)

    Can anyone tell me where you can but this Cable please as i have to connect my Dreambox to the PC to unfreeze it.

    forzahoop, there is a maplins around the corner from peats, just off parnell st., just make sure you get a null modem cable. The null modem and RS-232 look identical, but they are totally different internally.
    If you go to maplins, take along the part number from that link, and wherever you end up buying it, keep the receipt, it wouldn't be the first time a shop assistant sold the RS-232 cable, saying that it is the correct one, 'cos they don't know the difference.

    Is it the same CAble that runs from your Monitor to your PC ?

    No that is a VGA cable. As Eamo said you need a DB9F to DB9F null modem cable. The part number in Maplins is L71BT.
