R4 Game Save States

Hey all,

Just wondered if I'm missing something. How do I save games with the R4? For instance, New Mario Bros. I am on like level 1-4 and would like to come back to it later. I cannot see a way to save where I'm at. Everytime I play, I have to start over.
Is it possible to save DS game states on the R4?

Is it different per game?

 

The R4 does not support save states. It does support whatever saving mechanism the original game cart provides.
This depends on every game, for example in your case with new SMB you will be asked - by the game - about saving every time you finish a castle or unlock an area with star coins.
Other games have different saving methods/schemes. You can refer to the game manual for details.
