r4 has been working for months but has suddenly said it is fake!

    help please! i have been playing my r4 for months now, i recently put a new game on and when i turned on my r4, it only has a loading screen and it says r4 is fake, please return to retailer. Any ideas why it might not be working

    i put the incredibles on for my little brother, i tried it before i put it on and it worked fine, it didnt work after i deleted the file either

    Very strange...

    Is the card completely full?
    unless you accidently deleted some other file/s by mistake

    All i can suggest is to backup anything you want to keep games/saves and then reformat the sd card and reload the firmware... then put back on your games/saves.

    I remember the R4 team released firmware at some point that would brick fake R4s. Maybe you did something that allowed the legit firmware to detect a fake R4.

    Might have something to do with that.

    grrr... my new micro sd reader has just broke by overheating whilst trying to move all games to desktop.will be getting new one but wont be posting for a while but tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks,
