Orignal R4 doesn't support SHDC. 2GB is the max.

End of story. Have him buy a new flashcart if he wants more storage.

"my son is driving me insane wanting the bigger memmory. please help."

Sorry, no sympathy from this father.

You are the parent. Manage it.

I do the same with all kids' requests too.

Anyways, my kids both have (genuine) R4's with (i think 4GB) Micro SDHC's in and they work fine (i could have sworn they were 4GB cards but i can't tell at the moment as one DS is at home and the other is in midst of a game). I don't mean to contradict dailun, and i know virtually nothing about R4's and NDS's but am pretty sure the R4's we have are genuine.

Whenever they want new stuff they have to make room, but i do keep all the games on my file server just in case.

edit- Managed to get hold of the DS for a few moments. They're definitely 4GB (Kingston) cards, and the R4's are 'R4 SDHC Revolution for DS (NDSL/NDS)' cards, and i've seen the boxes for the R4's, they sure look genuine to me. They seem to sell the exact same ones here ~ http://www.r4i.co.uk/
Was about to check the firmware version but little fingers were away with the DS before i could finish blinking.
There's only one game i've not been able to get working on the R4, i think it was 'Personal Trainer: Math', every single other game i've tried works fine.

I didn't configure the cards from new, they were done by a friend of the kids so i can't confirm how easy it is to set them up, but i intend to buy one at some point and don't foresee any problems as i've only read good things about these particular cards.

Feel free to correct me, i mean these cards might be clones of some sort, it's just that they've played many games successfully so far, even newest ones so i know they're decent ones.

R4 revolution and R4 SHDC are different cards.

Creaky, all you said about the cards that you own is correct.

TC apparently has R4 revolution (the original) R4 card, which can only accomodate 2GB.

Good stuff. I guess there's loads of different cards then, and i guess there's loads of clones/fake ones due to the popularity of the NDS.
Sorry i couldn't help the OP then, other than suggest a decent card :)

Don't get Kittymat started. I think by his last count, he noted at least 8 (or was it 18) variations of R4 flashcarts.
