R4i-GOLD V1.4 with super mario on the front of the box

Have tried all the stuff i can find now and in my mind this ( R4igold.cn ) Mario edition is a very bad card if anybody have somthing for this card working good please tell

Having a similar problem to you, I have been searching everywhere to download the correct software to the card but to no avail.

I have attempted to download the unofficial software you posted but Rapidshare will not allow anymore downloads, if I was to provide me email address would you be as kind to send it me direct.

I have returned the R4i Gold and ordered an M3i Zero. The R4i Gold can not be flashed where as the M3i Zero can and comes with a USB flash lead to install new firmware.

I will let you know how it goes

i would stick to a acekard 2 my friend a top card. very few problems with this card. also i edge card just been released. the new edge card for dsi.

Ordered a number of these r4igold.cn ,now stuck with them as they are total crap.They work,but are extremely slow.Will stay away from r4i cards in future.

 

hi dyeguy, can you post the firmware you use please? i just get the same R4i gold with mario on the box, all firmware on the website www.R4igold.cn doesnt work...
i can see the structure of the menu, but when i try to load a game, my nds freeze and i have lot of sentences who talks about moonshl2/launch.data

one r4i gold with super mario on the box just came this morning to me from hong kong from gamekool.com....and i cannot make it works on my brand new ndsi...i have only white screen....what i need to do to make it works?

 

follow the website on the box for latest firmware.

 

update to this ,turns out that it was the memory cards i was using.kingston 4 gb class 4 micro sd which i bought off a well known reputable site.switched them to transcend class 6 and now they work perfectly.

I've recently purchased the same R4i with the mario on the box. This R4 apparently comes from a bizarre manufacturer and is really crappy. I've managed to make it work on my DS Lite, though.

I've downloaded the Kernel files on the link below and copied it to the microSD:

This should make it work. However, games will take forever to load/create .sav files (abou 5-10 min) with a 4Gb card.

I would suggest you to attempt get your money back (assuming that is a possibility).

Solutions:
ttmenu.dat error:
You may have changed a particular file to make t not load.

White Screen/No R4i Menu:
Could be the wrong firmware/blank MicroSd card.

Still Loading:
Bad MicroSd, wrong rom. R4i supports up to 2GB max. Anything higher than 2GB will take forever to loooooooooood.

MISSING!!!:
Your children may haven eaten R4i and MicroSD for breakfast!

 

For anyone who's bought the R4igold clone card from http://www.r4igold.cn and having trouble getting it to work, this may help. I've found that the download files don't have the kernel file correctly named. When you unpack the archive to a folder on your PC you may find a file called iLL.iL in it at the top level. Make two copies of this in the same folder named R4i.dat and TTMENU.DAT

Then copy the complete set of unpacked files over to your SD card, and with any luck you'll find it all works.

I've just spent the last few hours trying to get one of these cards working in my son's DSi (as the mini cd supplied was unreadable!) and only just figured out the above. You probably don't need both the file copies I've named, but I can't be bothered to check that out at this late hour.

Also, you don't appear to need the R4iMenu folder mentioned in the instructions on the website.

Game files can just be placed in a folder on the SD card which you can navigate to once you boot the DSi.

If the website is down, try http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ which has copies of all the clone firmware downloads.
