    I have a acer aspire 1690 wlci.

It has 2 256MB RAM installed. I want to upgrade the RAM but I dont know whether I can use a PC2 5300 SO-DIMM Notebook Memory.

The sticker places near the keyboard in the laptop says "dual channel support"

I looked up the RAM installed . Here is what is pasted on the RAM: pc2-3200s-333-12.

According to crucial.com site if i do the ram finder using acer aspire 1690 series it has 2 options
    1. just acer aspire 1690 series
    2. acer aspire 1690 series with dual channel support

for the 1st one they suggest PC2-3200 and for the second what they suggest is "Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300,DDR2 PC2-4200
with a maximum of 1GB per slot"

does it mean I can use PC2-5300.

    any help guys
    Raaj
