try each stick by itself in each slot to see which 1 is bad or a bad slot. also use a pencil eraser on the gold contacts on the ram to remove oxidation.

i did try each stick at time, only two sticks are working.
but when i put them together, it only shown 128mb in system info.
could it be that the max ram it takes?

I had the same problem with my wife's H-P,try updating the bios as I did, after the update I was able to install 512 mb. as opposed to the 64 (128 max) that it came with. Good luck! B.W.

doesn't appear to be an update for your bios

OEM computers are the hardest to get BIOS updates from. Only way I know of, is to contact HP.
