    What do you guys think?

    Progressive scan vs. Normal?
    SONY, PANASONIC, any other names to look for?

    When you say normal, i presume you mean de-interlaced. There really isnt any comparison. If your TV, HDTV, Plasma or projector can receive Progressive Scanning signal, then you really should get a Progressive scanning DVD player. Read my thread on Progressive scanning:

    With this in mind, have a look at the Pioneer DV565 and the Marantz DV4300
