i have the latest firmware i'm using decent disks (verbatim) and after months of successful burning i'm making coasters. i keep getting read errors half way through the burn. the data is archived properly, but i get a read error every time and sometimes a redundancy check. i'm using nero, pinnacle, and dvd shrink.

is my recorder broken, i've cleaned the lens does it need calibrated?

any help would be appreciated, thanx!!!!

Are these a new batch of Verbatim disk's you are having these issues with? Or did you have successfull back ups with disks from this same package of disk's? Because all Verbatim's are not created equal. What I am saying is Verbatim doesnt produce there own media they are made for them by several different manufacturer's. So the packaging and actuall disks may look the same on the outside when really you may have 2,3 or 4 completly different disk's. Try this little program http://www.dvdinfopro.com/ it will let you know the manufacturer of those disks and then check one of your older disks to see if they are the same..
