Receiver upgrade suggestions?

Bill - If you are in that price range, a speaker system i heard which was amazing is the Monitor Audio GR8's and the GR10's. The latter have three main drivers and a tweeter. If you couple it with a subwoofer then i really dont think you could ever beat the quality from them. Its just that good.....

Those are the speakers i aspire to get in the near (more likely distant) future. Also, don't forget to look at B&W speakres, many love those...

 

I have some B&W speakers that my aunt gave me. There are really nice. But she was saying that newer ones are not as good as the older ones. She was on peanut butter for a month when she was in University to buy the ones she gave me couple years ago. I think they date back to the 1972.
