    Hi, all.

I'm extremely frustrated because I very much want to use Nero Recode 2 to select movie components to write to DVD (removing trailers and such).

However, this is what happens EVERY time:

    (1) Launch Recode 2 (via Nero SmartStart)

    (2) Select "Recode an Entire DVD to DVD"

    (3) Select "Import DVD" (files are on HD and are perfectly valid and playable)

    (4) Wait a few moments doing nothing (or try to open one of the items in the "Contents" window)...

    (5) Nero *HANGS* completely! Windows Task Manager says: "Nero Recode -- Not Responding"

I've done everything I can think of:

    (a) Run THREE antivirus engines: Avira Classic and G Data Antivirus (which combines Kaspersky and Bitdefender engines and is EXTREMELY thorough -- to the point of frustration with its resource consumption)

    (b) Run THREE anti-spyware/anti-malware utilities: Zone Alarm Pro, Spybot S&D, and the ultra-anti-malware tool a-squared (which is constantly running on guard in the background).

    (c) Run TWO registry fixers: Registrar and Registry Fix It.

    Nothing makes ANY difference!

What is going on? Or at least can anyone give me any ideas of what else to check?

    Here's my system info:

    Thank you for your reply!

But I had this exact same problem with 7.5.9.0 and 7.5.9.0a, too. That's why I updated to 7.7.5.1 (i.e., in hopes of solving this problem).

    Any other ideas?
