I just purchased an Insignia NS-H4005 DVD/VCR home theater system and never seen a VCR player that you can't screw in the cable for cable TV into the VCR and then in to my TV and can't program any channels into it. It also says it doesn't include a built in tuner. I have the yellow, red, and white jacks plugged into the VCR/DVD player. It says that I can record off my TV but I have no idea how to do it. Can I record TV on to this system?

Generally not the case - unless the TV specifically lists a 'Video Out' jack.

To record a TV source you would probably need one of the converter boxes that convert digital TV signals to analog.

In my own case, I have a Panasonic DVD recorder which has the old analog TV tuner - this will stop functioning in June, so I have a converter box to supply the video and audio.
