Alright, here's what happened - I agreed to upgrade a friends' xbox HD. It turns out that he backed up everything and FORGOT eeprom. I didn't find this out until i unlocked and browsed original HD. And from what i know about softmodding...without the eeprom u cannot upgrade. But now the problem...i can't even lock the original HD without the eeprom; i get error code 6 is there anyway around this? thankz
no.. nothing you can do except chip the box or build/buy an eeprom reader. Might be cheaper to buy another xbox.. softmod that and then lock the big hdd to the new one.
How do you unlock the hdd without an eeprom or a hdd password? That's what i want to know. You can always send it to me
Found a solution. swapped motherboards and HD's with a non-working xbox, luckily i had a spare xbox. I have the Unleash X dash on my xbox. I unlocked it from the system menu.
