recovering mac book pro hd on pc

    hi ive just been given a mac book pro which is a couple of years old but the hard drive has been corrupted some how, if i extract the hard drive (i know its a long job), can i recover the persons pictures for them on my pc with something like get data back now or do i have to use a mac with something like boomerang

    any hep welcomed

    windoze can't read the filesystem .. non starter.. you will need to use something which understands a unix file system.. one of the live bsd's will do, unless you have a mac lying around.

    yep i have a mac book so what software do i use ive read something about boomerang is this the tool i need

    NO you cant Mac OS X will be a journaled format and will not even be recognized by Windows fat/ntfs partitioning format
