Oops! I was one of those whose thread was closed for a vague title. I do apologize. My rationale for using said title is because sometimes it is difficult to come up with a descriptive topic heading that will draw people to read the thread. My thread was asking people, given the specs of a particular DVD recorder, whether it would play my burned DVDS. If I had put "will this DVD play my disks" I thought that might be too generic. Any ways lesson learned: better to be generic that redundant or obscure. Once again sorry
YES it is very petty... guess you must be on some sort of power trip... (closing threads) i can't see the harm anyone does asking for help... people either help or they don't simple as... you really need to get a grip and get a life if you think that's doing the right thing geez a HUGE thanks to the people that helped me i am very grateful, but i can't be arsed to use a forum where people are so spiteful as this Mandy

It's more than obvious you didn't read the few beginning pages of this thread, where the reasoning for more specific thread titles is outlined. It's not spite nor a power trip. It's making things easier and more concise for those who are here to help as well as the moderating staff.
I'm glad you replied Loco; i was going to then i realised that we're something like 6 pages into this one (whoops it's actually 9), it's all been explained to death. We're here to help people and part of that is helping people to help themselves. The rest is up to them.

Well, I just signed in today and I hope my thread is okay... The title does say it all... And the message is all what I can offer for explanation of my problem. Normally, when I am stuck with something, I solve it my own way, but when I can't do it, it may seem desperate, but I really want advise from people who possess the knowledge about it. ..and i have now reopened it for you. We close them only to get the message across re titles; unfortunately it happens so often that if the moderators were to rename them all when we first find them, we wouldn't have time for much else, plus we wouldn't get the message across as effectively.. In fact i always used to rename them, and also used to move incorrectly placed threads into the correct forums. I stopped moving them them for the same reason..
