Friends: I have two region 2 DVDs that I cannot process. I am using the latest versions of MTR, DVD2oneX, and Toast 6 Titanium, burning to a new Plextor PX716UF with the latest firmware. My computer is a AL PowerBook G4, 1GHz, 750megs RAM. MTR says ""Clear", rips for 5 minutes and then finishes, reporting "this disc shows bad sectors." DVD Player cannot read the rip, reporting "not permitted." Moving on to DVD2oneX, it chews on ripped file for 10 seconds, says "Finished" and nothing is there except about 40 Kb of garbage. Any thought? My region one rips all work fine. Regards, John

some discs just can't be ripped. no matter what you do, it doesn't work. i tried to rip hitch one time and i needed a friend with a pc to do it. also make sure you are ripping it with regiopn 2 settings.

isnt it if mtr gives you bad sectors.. when you get into dvd2onex... you need to uncheck the items that dont have anything in them? i think that was the issue with "are we there yet?"
see if that works... then run it through dvd player

If its a newer DVD that you are trying to burn then it may be the new protection. Bad sectors incorporated into the disc, my apologies if MTR is a copy protection program. As i dont know what it is.
