region code

    hello to all and try not to stress because eventually it'll come to you..i am trying to make a backup copy of the generals daughter and after ripping it and trying to test it with power dvdxp4 it says that it will not play it because of the region code. what if i burn this movie to a dvdrw anyway will it play in my home standalone dvdplayer. or would i need to change region code? if so how do i do this...

    You can strip out the region coding when you make the backup.

    If you rip the DVD to your harddisc. You can use IFOEdit - it has a button labelled Make Region Free. You must load the VIDEO_TS.IFO file for this to function. When you burn this, it should play in anything. Remember though, if after you rip, your files are bigger than 4.7GB, you are gonna have to strip out a few things or split to two discs.
