    Hey.

I live in Australia and currently in the US on a vacation. I want to purchase some dvds here that aren't availiable in Australia. Can the program AnyDVD be used to get rid of the DVD code on the disk so I can play these US dvds back in Australia?

    Thanks for the help.

Well thanks. I'm not looking to burn the DVDs or anything, I just need to remove the region code from the disk. Can Shrink/Decryptor/AnyDVD do that? Is there a faq showing how?

    Cheers.

Thanks for your help. I don't want to come off as obnoxious, but...
Doesn't that basically mean just put in the DVD and the region codes on that DVD will disappear?

    Cheers.

That means you can play them on your computer yes, but it does not remove the code from the disk it self. The only way you could accomplish this is to copy the disk. There is no way to remove region code from the disk itself.

Ahhh. Well thanks for clearing that up. Theres a way you can fix up your DVD player to play different regions, isn't there? Something about opening the disk compartment, and then punching in a combination of numbers?

I am not sure of this? You may want to post in the hardware section of the forum to get that answer.
Good Luck and I hope you are enjoying your stay in the good old USA :)
