Yah...I guess alot of people just assume since ther're new, they'll play almost anything. Which is more or less true. If you buy the cheapest player though...well...
My thing is looking to see if it can play divx (DIVX LOGO). That tells ME it supports multiple formats.

EDIT - Divx tells me its worth taking the time to look at, LOL

Some of you on here are edited by ddp for accusing me of someone I have no clue of.
Again I just came here to discuss my issues with making dvds. After all this is media forum!
Makes me wonder if I should seek higher advice from elsewere being i'm not taken seriously.

I appreciate afterdawn as a great site for learning and I have certainly obtained alot of useful knowledge regarding media.

I just want to know what small step am I missing to the reason why my dvds dont play on the dvd player.

There is no need for the language buddy :) It can be frustrating at times, but there is never a need for that.

What EXACTLY are you trying to do?

Never heard of that one. I used something (once upon a time) called Apollo divx to dvd). Worked wonders. It would even convert pal to ntsc, if memory serves, LOL.

Usually divx needs to be converted to dvd format prior to burning.

Divx can be burned by itself, although a divx supported player is necessary to play the discs.

    @BookT

First you need a program for getting around the DRM encryptions on the DVD. The two most popular are Free DVD Fab Decrypter and not free but 21 day trial ANYDVD-slysoft.com- I prefer it.

Then you need a program to shrink the movie to fit on a DVD-5 SL disc. Again Fab will do it, DVD Shrink will do it better (free) and nero Recode (not free) will do it best IMHO.

You then need to burn the out put files whether ISOs or Video_TS. I use Nero Burning Rom automatically with NeroRecode. A one step process. Shrink will also burn with NBR. IMG is one of the better burning programs (Free). It will burn ISO or Video_TS file.

There a lot more technical programs that do a better job also. Search the site for the places to get the aforementioned programs to download and the tutorials themselves. it's all here for your perusal. I'm not going to spoon-feed you. Do some work on your own-we all did! Learn the basics and then come back if you are still having troubles and post what information you can-ALL OF IT. Take your time when you post to use good English grammar and not abbreviated text speak. The you might get some decent answers! We don't get paid for doing this and we have very little patience sometimes for people that won't help themselves first!

Has your player EVER played these types of discs?
Is your burner new? Has It seen ALOT of discs? What kind of burner is it?

By the way. I've found that converting 25 Frames per second PAL to NTSC, still doesn't look right. There's a kinda stutter in the video. Not sure if there is a way to fix that. It's due I BELIEVE to our hardware not supporting that standard.

    EDIT - Spelling
