    Done,

PS, as soon as a burn log is requested, the OP dissapears again. Coincidence, or have we seen this behavior before ? Just wondering out loud. Never mind :)

    Weird thread. Anyway:
This is a generic error that Sony throws out, you'll get the same error with a PAL disc (if you are in the USA).

The OP has a converted AVI, most floating around are 25fps. I would assume his converting software is outputting PAL.

    @ Mr. BookerT

To use Miss Byrston terms of endearment, I suggest you start with a store bought DVD that you own. Rip it to your HDD with above mentioned programs Fab or AnyDVD, Shrink it with Shrink or Recode or Fab and burn it with Nero or Fab or Imgburn and then post a log of your miserable failed attempt for us to read. Guides are available here and on the net. Does Google ring a bell? Once you get a decent file to burn on your HDD then you can start trying to copy that crap you're downloading from the internet with all the corrupted files. You can't run before you walk! So before whining back here for more help on DivX files, see if you can backup a simple movie that will play in you DVD player. Try to find a SL disc that you can just copy to HDD and burn without shrinkage. From some of your posts there has already been some shrinkage between your ears. Have some dignity, laddie, and try to help yourself a wee little bit.

I am using WinAVI for my Divx conversions
im not sure if WinAVI is outputting my dvds in PAL. Note that their isnt any options for NTSC or PAL in WinAVI that I see of.

Your burner COULD be the issue! I dont like my LG much. Not much at all. However, im not the one to interpret imgburn logs!

LOL, just noticed your using Ritek dvds. NOT the best discs by far. But that does depend on the burner! The LG may not like them!

LOL, you dont wanna be burning them at the max speed either! Riteks are not good media. Ive had VERY little luck with them. Their cds are ok though.

Try some better media and burn at 8x and see if that makes a difference.

I have a samsung burner, and I normally don't burn faster than 6-8x. I use a lot of ritek media, and have had very good success with it.

I use dvd flick to convert my avi to dvd compliant. In dvd flick's settings, you can set the output to either ntsc or pal.

    Hi,

Ritek F 1 is second rate media, If Ritek brand is required, then use the Ridata line. Also max burn speeds are unwarranted and do as Mr Dialysis suggests.

My Lite-On's are the opposite. I can burn pretty much anything except ritek. You need to find the media that's compatabile with your burner. My Lite-On's just love Sony discs.
I'm also having good results with Maxell (CMC MAG-M01-00).

Oh man!!! You WAYYYY over paid. You paid twice as much as you needed to for that LG. I have a VERY similar model, And its abilities are LIMITED to say the least. Thankfully I only paid 23.99 I believe. It may have been even less! I think it was 19.99 Free shipping through the egg!

Why does that not surprise me :) I love my samsung burners. You cant go wrong with them. I call them samsung because they deserve their proper name. My burners are samsungs rebranded $ony DRU-'s Although I think my 820 is a panasonic.

My samsung burner burns about any kind of media, tho it did kick out about 15 Sony's out of 100 I got for christmas.

My favorites to use are TDK's and RiData, as of late.

Was this a new or used burner? They way you said you couldn't resist the offer? You paid too much wherever you got it.

    @BookerT,
As we all have our ways of doing things I'll have to admit you're only getting to about 12x on that burn but knowing which LG you purchased and I'm "assuming" it's an internal burner you did get "taken" as they say. If you're able to order from the EGG you could get numerous ODD's delivered for under $30 (USD). Looking at your burn log it seems you're burning an image about 2.2GB in size and you should have NO issues burning an image that size at 12x.

How bout we start over and really try to help you get this done.

What are you trying to burn? avi, iso, mkv, TS_VIDEO, or just what kind of file?

If it's an avi or mkv file you'll have to "re-encode" or "convert" it with something like ConvertXtoDVD, Super, or DVD Flick. All of those work but with "some" degree of difficulty. I would say DVD Flick is the best but I've had some issues with MKV files I think.

Once you have the "conversion" finished you'll have to determine if your file is in VIDEO_TS or ISO format and then choose the correct program to burn your file. Of course IMGBURN will do either one but it really converts the VIDEO_TS file to ISO format to burn it.

The most important thing to remember is choosing the CORRECT format for your video, NTSC or PAL. All the conversion progies give you the ability to force one or the other, just choose it.

So are any of your DVD's playing? IF so which method did you use? good luck to you...

    ....gm

I have the same LG burner, picked up at the Egg for $21.99 free shipping, burns everything I've thrown at it and plays on all of my standalones so I don't have any problems with it.
@BookerT I'm guessing that you are not a native english speaker, which isn't a problem, but what part of the world are you in, is your native format NTSC (North America), PAL (Most of Europe) or SECAM? This may be where you are running into problems if you record one format and try to play it on another format.
I believe that Nero can create a DVD in either PAL or NTSC, you may want to check that option out as well.

Go ahead and post a picture of your desktop so that we can see if you have too many burning programs installed on your system. Any info will help us help you I hope.

The Egg has the same burner now on sale for $24.99 free shipping again.
