edit, i for got the xp disk most be bought,and not a company computer.. like hp or dell..who at one time supplied a reinstall disk.you would have to go to the people who build ye computer to get and xp install disk.. i bought my xp-disk i had a defected xp disk and i supplied proof as my registration was in there microsoft records,i got another replacement disk for i think for around 29.95 over a year ago.. 1-800-360-7561 good luck
so your saying that i first need to buy optima xp from the computer company then buy another microsoft xp to install it? also im thinking about uprading the hardrive so what opther things should i upgrade

only need to buy 1 copy of xp. get ms version not company version as can use it on different motherboads that you cant with company version.
can it install any computer like the requirements sorry for the spelling because the ms will probably won't work with the old computer...can i return the ms copy if it doesn't work?
as long as computer meets system specs of xp than xp can be loaded on it whether p2 or up p4 level, name brand or no name brand compter.
i copied some files but it goes onto windows xp and then it says reinsatlling windows then a new screens comes up anmd says its shut down with some long code
