Hey, is there a way to reinstall windows with the same key on the same machine numerous times without the key becoming void? I ask this because i've done this before and had to purchase a new key altogether *Stupid Windows...

Normally in the event that you have to reinstall windows you do not need a new serial.

with XP, i think you get 6 installs off one key. then you have to call MS and bitch and moan until they give you a key good for one install. i had to deal with this just this past fall.

then i found XP SP2 for sale at a college for $30 and snatched that. hello new key!

Nope. There's four different versions of XP (not Home vs Pro)...:

    Upgrade,
    OEM,
    Retail, and
    Corporate.

A new key, if you need one....isn't that expensive.
