removing unwanted material?

    i am having a problem removing some unwanted material on a movie im trying to backup. will someone please take me step by step through this process. I would greatly appreciate it!

    thanks i figured it out, but why when i only want to remove a portion of the menu does it say that now the menu will play constantly and i have no control over it?

    if you use re-author in DVD shrink it will play the parts of the menus 1 after the other then the movie and then extras. it make 1 long video that you can only fast forword or rewind. re-authoring takes the maping out of the DVD so you only get one continuios DVD
