renaming .nds files

    once you have a .nds file can you change the name as long as you keep the .nds extension or does it not matter what is called because the nds will only read it one way? ex. can you change the following game: gamex(u)my name.nds to just gamex.nds?

    yeah just be sure to keep the extension ".nds".

    and you'll have to rename the save (.sav file) exactly the same !

    Pardon my ignorance but what are save (.sav files)?

    .sav files are saves, like for emulators. These work the same as an emulator. These are generated for each game you play. they hold settings for each game as well as save types.

    saves will be different sizes depending on what save type each game uses.

    R4DS saves are always 512kb. 3ZIV save files fluctuate in size due to the different saves types for each game.

    what a save type is is the way a game chooses to store it's info.
    there is EEPROM and others.
