I dismantle my son's ds lite and now I'm putting it back in a new case but the power button does not seem to work properly. Normally, when you slide the power button to turn it on, it springed back. But now, it's not doing that. I can't find any special connection for the button to be connected to. There is no power because the button just slide back and forth with no springing action. Please help.

You most certainly broke the on/off switch when putting the case back together. I did this also and the on/off button wouldn't spring back like you said.
You can get the part to fix it here but I do not recommend it unless you are at least somewhat experienced with a soldering iron.

You will need to desolder 4 points holding down the broken on/off switch. Then solder in the new one. All in a very tight area (not to much fun).
