A few years ago we bought our daughters a combo vhs/dvd player. The players are now getting a bit long in the tooth. A number of the discs played are backups but the combo won't play them entirely. I have no problems with any of the discs on my Panasonic DVD-CV51. Any good suggestions for a good replacement that will handle back-ups and original discs?

All dvd players I've seen, tell on the box if they play DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, etc.... So, find one in your price range and check the box. The cheap ones tend to play almost anything. I know people with the $30 Magnavox that plays everything.
