Im rebuilding my entire cooling system on my computer, I have a
    Cosmos case
    AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition
    4870x2
and then the rest is useless stuff like 4 gigs of ram and 2T of space
currently im running a nautilus 500, and im going to replace it with a custom cooling system

The reason im doing this is because I dont want the Nautilus outside my pc anymore and going to replace it with one that goes all inside.

And also my computer crashes playing games because my gfx 4870x2 get wayyyy to hot, and it wont automatically adjust the fan speed like ive seen other cards do, So i manually use expertool from ati to blast the fan at 100%, but its still not enought... so im going to replace the entire fan with this:

EK Full Cover Nickle Waterblock for 4870x2....

I bought the thing but what I need help with is choosing the rest of the stuff... I dont have fitting tubes or anything. Can you guys help me out and tell me whats good to get?

Im using arctic silver 5 thermal compound for all my waterblocks

Im just going to cool down my 4870x2 and my amd 9850 black edition

What waterblock should I get for the 9850

What resirvor should i get that will fit nicely in the cosmos case?

and what radiator should I get that will fit nicely inside there 2....

ANd the most important part is choosing the fittings, I'm completely lost with the fittings terminology and need help choosing it for my cooling, Please choose good high end products, and dont go over board telling me to get a magicool extreme 4 radiator which is way to big and which I dont need for a 4870x2 and 1 processor...

    Thanks in advance.!

A common mistake people make with the Radeons is when they get crashes, they assume it's due to overheats, even if they still occur when they up the fan speed. This is almost never the case. Upgrade to Catalyst 9.2 drivers from the ATI website, make sure your chipset is properly cooled, and make sure you have a good enough power supply.

ok this is going to be my test. Im goign to upgrade to 9.2 and turn off expertool with my case closed and no external fan, and see if its going to crash the system. If it does crash, and sooner, then that means that I have a heating problem, I hope the new 9.2 version fixed the fan so it can automatically ajust depending on heat.

It does automatically adjust, I've never seen a case where it hasn't. Either you can't hear it, or ther's something wrong with the fan. Remember, expertool has a minimum of 50% which is quite noisy. Under a lot of games the fan doesn't go above 40% which you might not hear behind the rest of your system.

I see, i probably wasnt able to see it. So far the new drivers are stable, im going to try a game that drains my PC and heats it up insanely, probably Crysis.

BTW I still got the waterblock standing next to me and still need the rest of the parts to watercool my computer because my room gets way to hot playing games and I hate sweating playing them.

Lol? What makes you think using watercooling will make your PC put out any less heat?

Yeah well, as I say, I don't think it's heat causing the crash.

IS your system overclocked? What motherboard, case and power supply do you have?

    System is not overclocked whatsoever
    I have a Cosmos 1000 case
And a 850 Watt Antec TruePower Quattro
and a MSI K9A2 CF motherboard

the rest of the components are
    1 cd/drive
    3 hd +1 external drive =4
4 gigs of ram running on vista 64bit
all the fans that came with the case
    1 Nautilus 500 cooling down my 9850
    4870x2
    9850 black edition

I still dont understand why its crashing

just incase it was my motherboard drivers I went to

    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1333

    and installed

    ATI System Drivers for RS690/RD780/RD790/RX780/RX780/RS740/SB600/SB700
    and
    AMD AMDAway Driver

the rest were useless, like ethernet, which I installed through windows update and realtek hd audio, which I manualy installed (latest version)
the cool and quiet isnt supported on vista 64bit
and the ati raid drivers wont be needed because I dont have a raid configuration.

Yea I updated it, and tested it out with Crysis, and it still crashes, but it seemed to crash less on other games, so mabye I had 2 problems, a heat issue and chipset driver issue, but as of now, I did update every driver on my comp

    m/b
    audio
    and gfx driver

    But crysis still crashes.

How exactly does the crash occur?

The crash only occurs playing intense games like crysis, crysis warhead, and gta, and sometimes in other games after playing a long time

Sorry, I meant how, not when - what happens when you get the crash?

The entire image freezes, and rarely a bsod comes up, but mostly 95% of the time it freezes the image of the game and nothing happens
