I'm going totally off memory here so I'm not fully sure if it's correct? I think it has something to do with changing the password..... Try and set your password back to 0000 save the changes and go back in and change the password again to 7777 save and exit, then go back in again and see if it works? If your current password is already set to 0000 just change it to 7777 & save. -
thankyou for taking time out to reply but i have tried that,i have troughed the pages here extensively and lots of things that have been suggested to other members i have tried.Should it be filed in the waste bin now? lol
Try this 1. Menu 2. Installation 3. Parental Lock 4. Red Audio Button for Goto Key Manager 5. Choose the top option and turn OFF the auto update. i can sometime access the option screen but not all the times 6. Press the Blue button to choose the NAGRA option 7. Four arrows back take 0X55' 8. One down arrow takes you to the 0x00 - i.e. Key 0. Press OK 9. Up pops the HEX Keyboard - just type in the new numbers - it puts the dots in for you. Do this for Key 01 as well. There wont be any key info if theres no channels present on the box. Might help if you post up your approximate location. You might be scanning for channels on wrong symbol rate, or trying to use a "cable" box in a "terrestrial" area. Do you have a square ariel on your roof ?
i have inputed the codes manually no problem and i am using the telepest(from memory 0x5b?) code cos i am in devon on the cable network.
I don't think you have the latest software on the Box. You need an "A" file first then the latest software. All the files can be found in the Library link at the bottom of this post. When you have all your files downloaded. Connect the Null modem lead from your box to your PC. Open up the Stblink and select "Run" DON'T do the Setup Comm. Untick the "Maintain User Data" box. Ignore the error message you will receive. Select "Upgrade Software" and get the 742A file. It will then start to transfer to you box. When your PC reads "Transfer Complete" WAIT another couple of minutes before unplugging. When the files are being transferred from your PC to the box, the led on the box will be flashing at this speed DON'T unplug the box until until you see it flashing at this speed When the flash is complete, unplug the box, null modem lead and exit the Stblink. Power up the box again and WAIT until the light on the front goes Green. Then do the above with the 2812208 file. Then do your Auto Search.
Can i firstly thank all posters for your time and patience.Unfortunately i have tried most things suggested as i have checked out these pages extensively. Now Brian your post sounds interesting but excuse my ignorance but whats an "A" file?
Brian your an absolute star! I did as you suggested and bingo! May i thank you very much for your time and to everyone else that replied. Very much appreciated.
Great to see you got sorted Keeffff. As for Brian? He da man..... Nice call Brian, how goes it with you? -
i m living in UK n on nthell ,, i have replay lite and most the channels are working fine. in last 15 days the box got dead but i made it work by gettin the code, its first time i have manually put the code and not gave to the box provider whose charges quite a lot. but there r few channels which are still scrambled and i want to ask, can i manually scan any specific channel which is scrambled without disturbing other channels which are working fine. I dont want to take risk of scanning n thn losing every channel as i still dont have all the stuff to flash it back , like sky horror,sci-fi, etc are not coming so it is possible to manually scan it without flashing it. and if possible can any one give the list of frequencies(or where can i find the list) for nthell in uk,
Hi Chigs. Doing a manual for several different channels can be messy. You would need to know the exact frequency of each channel and this can vary from area to area. Your box should still work in the UK if you have the last software on it. Last software was 2812208and is available in the Library link at the bottom of this post. If I were you I would put that software on your box and re-scan from 100MHz to 866Mhz. The scan take a long time with the Replay Lite.so I would let it scan will you are busy elsewhere. Personally if I were I would invest in a Kryptview, best supported box and scans for channel frequency changes in standby mode. Best of luck M8
Thanks Brian Just for the information,i am from UK (leicestershire) i checked my replay lite,, SW Version : 9.10 HW Version : 1770-1.0-CS100 As you say that the latest version is 2812208, I dont knw whether its the same or different and i checked the link at the bottom but sorry i cant figure out which file has 2812208 SW in software folder of Replay folder and is there any way i can get the list of frequencies for my region so i can look for specific channel. sorry for being so demanding. finally thank you again for ur reply and if possible can u let me knw the estimate price of kryptview box.
Chigs, You can get a Kryptview for £89 Sterling from here, hxxp://www.skywonder.co.uk/product.php?productid=1034&cat=1&page=1 The last software release for the Replay Lite can be downloaded from here, http://www.speedyshare.com/301339812.html The STB link (Used to Transfer the software to the Replay Lite ) can be found here, http://www.speedyshare.com/596711344.html You will need a Null Modem Lead ( L71BT) to transfer the software to the box. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When you have all your files downloaded. Connect the Null modem lead from your box to your PC. Open up the Stblink and select "Run" DON'T do the Setup Comm. Untick the "Maintain User Data" box. Ignore the error message you will receive. Select "Upgrade Software" and get the 2812208 file. Then do your Auto Search. Start Frequency 100 End Frequency 866 With this software on the box you shouldn't need to manually input keys.
Brian, once again thankyou for all your very useful help.If i could pick your brains again, the codes obviously changed again today, should the replay update automatically because mine didnt today? Thanks in anticipation? keith
as long as you have the auto updates on, and the latest firmware, it should update automatically, if the frequencies of one or two channels have changed, then a manual scan should do it. if all your channels are gone then follow brians tutorial about two posts back and put the latest firmware onto your box
Brian or keefe would it be at all possible for you to explain the "A" file any further because I have followed everything suggested but I'm still coming up blank, thanks for any help in advance
The "A" file is this case is the initial software flashed to the box to enable it to receive cable channels. You then need software to be flashed to the box to unscramble the picture. The "A" file you need is 742A, then 2812208 software file. You need a Null Modem Lead(Part No.L71BT Maplins) to transfer (Flash) the files to your Box All the files can be found in the Library link at the bottom of this post.
Thanks brian for the quick reply, I thought the "a" file would be the 742a but wasn't 100% sure because when you download it the title is "qstpvr_cxl_ver742a_up". I have followed the directions exactly on two seperate boxes but still no joy, having uploaded the 742a file as directed I disconnect but when I reconnect the light goes green for 1 or 2 seconds before turning red and staying red for hours. Might throw in the towel and invest in a kryptview, again thanks for the help though.
The reason why it's staying on Red Light is because you unplugged the null modem lead before the flash was complete. Done that meself LOL Flash with the 742A file again but make sure to wait for the light to be flashing very very quickly. From the time the 742A file starts to transfer it takes roughly 4 1/2 mins to complete, wait about a minute after all the blocks are loaded to unplug. Even if you let it go on for 6 mins it won't harm the box. Flash as above and you should be OK.
Again Brian thanks a lot for the help but still not happening for me. I have flashed the boxes loads of times in the past with no problems at all, I can even flash it now still with every other file except the 742a. I tried to use the 743a from the same library and then flashed with the 2812208 (both flashes worked giving the normal constant green light) but an auto search brought up nothing. When I use the 742a to flash I have tried giving it the normal amount (a few seconds after the light flashing accelerates into a rapid flash) I have tried to give it 6 minutes, 10 minutes, up as far as hours. I don't know now if I've knackered both replay lites I have by a dozen or so failed flashes or if the 742a file from the library is somehow incompatible with the boxes I have (maybe if their clones or something but I don't think they are). Anyway Brian I mainly wanted to tell you how I got on so that you knew you weren't wasting your time but I wouldn't worry about it any further cos I have my own head wrecked enough over it without doing to you as well, good luck
The most important part of flashing a Red Light Box is the Red Highlighted part, here, Open up the Stblink and select "Run" DON'T do the Setup Comm. Untick the "Maintain User Data" box. Ignore the error message you will receive. Select "Upgrade Software" and get the 742A file. The down side of the Replay Light Box is there will be no further Software releases for it. The kryptview is the best supported box and with the Powerscan in standby mode, saves ever to look for channel frequencies for moved channels. Best of luck M8 in what ever you do.
