legends is all I can say,

Thanks great steps , took about 30 mins and have everything working again :)

so easy to do too.... and you who ever is going to pay €30 its not too much to pay for what you get but its not hard to do at all.( but you would pay about 16 for the cable alone)

Can someone help me to get a connection please? I don't understand is it my firewall tried it with it switched off and on or is my Replay lite not a genuine one. Why does the computer say factory data not valid?

really dont know what to say, as i found it worked no problem

Did you follow instructions exactly?? U say you did, but something must have been missed

did u untick maintain user data?

did u unplug mains, and null modem lead after each flash and then JUST PLUG IN THE POWER, til the green light appeared - it does go red first and then green . YOu then take out the power lead again and then the null modem lead back in and then power on

did you make sure after each action, YOU WAITED FOR THE LIGHT TO FLASH RAPIDLY

When u start stblink, on the pc, you have two com ports, presumabley - and did you make sure you were connected to the right one, my stb asked me to choose which one and i knew it was correct, as it said "connection established"

Is it this bit that you have a problem with??

Are u using the right lead?

Are you using the usb convertor?

Please give us EXACTLY what u have done and where it has gone wrong, so we can help

Yeah it's not the actual cost as such but what p*ssed me off is that I got my own and 3 others from this guy and he was charging us €30 for each one telling us he had paid 1200 for the software which I now know cost him nothing. I have no problem paying for a service but as I said I hate being ripped off.

    Cheers

Downloaded all software last night to pc. Got 9 pin female to female lead today. Plugged lead into computer then into box. Plugged box into mains power. Box flashed red + green for a few seconds and then stayed green. Opened stblink. Clicked on Setup Comm chose com1 got connection failure. Tried com2 got the system cannot find the file specified. Ok that then got comm port open error. Ok that then click read user data got please turn on your receiver etc. If I go back to com1 I get connecting and the blue bar goes about halfway and then says connection error.

    Hi Bryandir

Just saw your posts, it looks like you are getting fairly frustrated. I thank the fact of the matter is that most people, including myself, on this thread have Replay Lite and know absolutely nothing about the Replay PVR (Personal Video Recorder).

Caan I suggest that you check the current version of the software installed on the box to see if its the same as one of the versions installed on the Replay Lite. You may find it in Utility/Receiver Information.

Post the info here when you find it.

    http://www.4shared.com/account/home.jsp

check there, there is an instruction for the pvr one

as far as the software is concerned, not sure - whether there is or going to be any, not seen it myself, just the normal replay

I give up I'm going to the pub! Can anyone tell me if all the Replay Lite boxes will take this software or are there ones out there that aren't genuine and won't take it. Plus what is this comm port error I keep getting? Should I try a usb to scart instead of null modem cable, will that make any difference?

Will try again in morning, would appreciate some info before then!

    Thanks!
