Yes there were a couple of games on the earlier versions of the Firmware but not on the latest beta.

How to change port number on PC.

    Do the following.

    START
    Right Click "MY COMPUTER"
    Choose "MANAGE"
In the resulting window, click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
In the right hand pane, click on the little plus sign beside "PORTS" in the right hand pane.
Right click on the USB Adapter (Should be something like "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm. Port (COM#)
    Choose "Properties"
    Click on "PORT SETTINGS" TAB
    Click on "ADVANCED"
Then you will see the COM Port Number Box. You should be able to change it there using the drop down box.
Try to set it to COM2
    Restart Windows (Only if necessary)

Set STBLink to COM2 & try to connect.

If that fails try another port number.

Just wondering if anyones box seems to be freezing, just for a second, it never seemed to do it with the old software??

Loving the new software tho such a pleasure not having to put in the codes everyday!!

just a couple of little things about the new software which i missed from the old one, the fav button does not skip to the next fav just to the menu and the previous channel button only works when your on the same favorite section.

But who cares when it auto updates i think just being picky now

Thanks to all that made this program available and for the simple instructions to get it working

    Hi all,

Just thought I would join in and share a solution to the usb-serial-null modem problem that some users may be having. I could not get the usb-serial adapter cable to work with the null modem cable, following the method outlined here.

So I went onto eB*y and got a serial rs232 pcmcia card for my laptop. Took 10 days to get here from Hong Kong but at £3.99 I wasn't complaining (the post & packing was £7.50). That worked out at €14.20.

I hooked in the card to the pcmcia slot and installed the drivers on the accompanying 4cm cd, a bit strange as it took 3 drivers for the one card??

Once installed I connected the null modem cable (from Maplin) and did the setup on page 132. As easy as that, took about 10 minutes and now I have 9.10 on my Replay Lite.

Since I did not have any serial port on my pc or laptop and I had to go to a mate's house to update the firmware (his was an older pc with a serial port) on the replay lite, I'm now happy out with my purchase.

Many thanks to Brian1956 and Gman and many others for all the posts, you guys are amazing.

Share the knowledge, keep the faith.

    Hi again guys/gals,

Firstly, Thanks so much to all that pm,d me with help and advice. I am now updating my box as i type and all is well in the world once more.

OK, so if like me, you have a p.c. with only USB slots in the back, then u DO need the rs 232 usb to serial adapter that i had already puchased cost approx £10(see my prev memo), but you also need the Null modem cable (which i never had), simply install the disk for the usb/serial cable, connect it to p.c. and then add the Null modem cable. And Voila you may update the box following the instructions previously mentioned.

Thanks again all for all your help and advice

You are all kings amongst men :)

Drinking in the day......hmmmmm, I'm jealous

First things first, you have to unplug and then replug the box after installing 7.42a. Close and reopen the stblink and now load the 9.10 in the same way as the 7.42a

    Panic Not

Again unplug the box from the mains. Close the stblink and then open it again. Now power up the box to STANDBY and update firmware with 9.10 without trying to "connect".
