First of all have you installed the driver for your USB converter. Next, have you configured your usb as a comm port. If not do the following (provided by Gman)

    START
    Right Click "MY COMPUTER"
    Choose "MANAGE"
In the resulting window, click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
In the right hand pane, click on the little plus sign beside "PORTS" in the right hand pane.
Right click on the USB Adapter (Should be something like "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm. Port (COM#)
    Choose "Properties"
    Click on "PORT SETTINGS" TAB
    Click on "ADVANCED"
Then you will see the COM Port Number Box. You should be able to change it there using the drop down box.
Try to set it to COM2
    Restart Windows (Only if necessary)

Set STBLink to COM2 & try to connect.

If that fails try another port number.

Go to Auto Search and change the Symbol Rate to 6887 by using the left right arrows on the remote. If you cannot find it, when you see **** enter 6887 with the numbers on the remote. Make sure search by network is switched on. Now press search. It will take a while because I dont know what range to limit the search in the UK is.

Bit of a stupid question but I presume the replay lite depends on the strength of the incoming signal? I have one box which is fine but another is down about 12 channels. Was trying to look at earlier posts but it's a bit of a nightmare coz of all those pages requesting codes!!!!

No such thing as a stupid question on here. If you need to know... ask.

Bad signal will affect quite a few channels but is most likely to give you a freezing screen with broken picture. Would suggest that you switch the boxes around and see if the one with all the channels works in the area where the other one is poor and visa versa. If the box with all the channels works in the area where you only had 12 then do a rescan with the other box.

hi brian, how are you? well i hope. my box on telepest flashed with 910 software is working fine, can scan over and over if i so choose or save my channels and add after flash all great, but a friend of mine asked me to flash theirs and the on nhell, did exactly same process but only way i can get it working is to install there saved channels from my pc, when i try to scan box normally, it seems to go through the motions but no channels are found cant even manual scan to add channels either. any idea why this is the case? any advice or is it a limitation with new software in some areas? love to get your input on this subject? thanks again and hope you can help

This can happen if you inavertantly forget to untic the "Maintain User Data" prior to performing the flash.

I have found that if you power off the box & power it on again then repeat the scan process it will pick up all the channels.

Now: Do a full scan. (Should only take 5 Min Approx)

    Menu
    User Installation
    Auto Search
    Start Frequency: 290
    End Frequency: 403
Symbol Rate: 6887 (If not available, type it in manually)
    Constellation: 64 QAM
    Search by Network: On
    Search

When all available channels are found select the “View” button.
Goto a premium channel and wait for the box to unscramble.
“Be patient, it may take a few minutes.

It only ever happened to me once & that was the reason in my case.

I have heard one other poster mention it too do but can't remember who.....

When it failed to pick up the channels did you try again or just upload the channel dump file?

By the way, I'd say Brien is safely tucked up in bed, he's off on a weeks Hols tomorrow lol.

Nothing special about channel dump files, they're only a channel file list uploaded from a working box (Just as you used).

The 910 firmware has the "Auto Update" defaulted to on, I wonder if that had anything to do with it?

Yep, I think Brian needs a break, I warned him not to bring the wireless laptop with him, lol.....
