OMG Wheelo, I'm not thinking straight 2nite.

I totally forgot what channel we were on about.......

Celtic TV is off air at the moment everywhere. It does that regularly sometimes due to restrictions over rights & what not.

I'd say you are fine, just leave it be & it will be back when it's back.

Hi, was wondering if anyone had any advice for me? Have a replay lite since last october, is working fine no problems but am thinking of getting a second one for the kids and was wondering if i would be better off with a different make or should i stick to the replay lite? Someone told me the replay was obsolete?!

They certainly are not obsolete. However there are a number of choices out there, the main ones which are, the latest Starview which is known as The Box Super, the Eurovox, the Dbox2 and the Replay Lite. I have a Replay Lite and The Box Super. Only bought the Box Super last week and despite the fact that it was only released in February I dont think its a patch on the Replay when it comes to either the functions or the epg. The Replay does what its programmed for and you would, in my opinion, have to go a long way to beat it.

I've dabbled with the Replay, Eurovox & Starviews too but ended up with three Replay Lites. 1 for MEeeeee... & two for the Brats ;-).

As stated earlier, "They all do the same job".

I choose the Replay because it was tidy in both size & appearance, I'm comfortable with how it works and have access to anything I've ever needed for it so far.

Most of this technology is at least 5 years old anyway & sometimes I have to laugh at the big rush by some people to have the latest version, I think it's a bit of the keeping up with the Jones's really.

Can't you just imagine the banter in the local Golf Club? "I have a 2007 model" "O' really?, I have the 2008 model myself actually".

It's a bit like the Millenium if you ask me? most people in Ireland were tripping over themselves to own a 00 Reged car (What was all that about? They're all eight years old now....).

Personally I'm more then happy with the Replay Lite & it has never been cloned either (AFAIK). There's just too many variations of the others & anybody keeping an eye on the other Forums will know the confusion that causes.

The bottom line here is this, As long as the Firmware Guru's keep writing the Firmware updates it doesn't really matter which box you have. They are doing a excellent job & don't get half enough thanks from the many many people who are availing of their Trojan work. A particular box will become obsolete when these masterminds decide to stop writing the code.

As for availability? They're plenty of Replay Lite still on sale ;-)

Bottom line here folks is "It's a matter of personal choice"

    I know moggser, I know.......

I'm sure we can get someone to call over to you and press the buttons on the remote for ya, lol ;-)

Seriously though, now that things have quietened down it would be a great time for all the newbies to read back over some of the threads so as to get themselves up to speed before the next onslaught but I suppose I'm dreaming now really, ain't I? lol.

    That's great, thanks.

As I said, I'm happy with my replay, but most people I know have a starview. Just wanted to get an opinion from the experts on which way to go. And by the way, thanks again for all the help with the codes and upgrading the software. Was talking to a guy in the pub yesterday, he was saying that the person he knows has been charging everyone 20 euro to upgrade their boxes. Fair enough I suppose, he's taking a risk if he's doing it for strangers, but you guys have been really helpful and you do it all for free.

Actually, might as well ask you guys this as well! Was thinking of getting a projector to hook up to replay lite to watch movies on! They have one in lidl this morning for 500 euro. Its a NEC VT-59. Is that worth getting, I mean would it be good value? I believe NEC is a good make. Anyone any info on it?

Sorry, I know it's not strictly a replay lite question, but I do want to run my replay lite through it so it is a little bit!

Unfotuantely this is a problem that happens every now and again if you are in a weak signal area. I've two boxes one on NTHell in Dublin and one in Cork (Ch***s), the box in Dublin gives no problems but the one in Cork does this quite a lot due to the poor signal in the area. It's not ideal but the picture will eventually descramble and go back to normal. Sometimes if you just press channel up and then back down it'll get rid of this. Its not ideal but its just one of the downsides of free tv..

This thread is for the replay lite, so don't know too much about the eurovox. You should be able to get the new firmware here: http://www.4shared.com/dir/3042613/f6e3421c/sharing.html<br/> (try the last added file think its the 1/5/2008 this is probably the most recent frimware update)

For instructions on how to guide you through the upgrade process try search the eurovox threads.
