This is what a serial port looks like:

What you have is a monitor out port:

You will need to buy the two cables-
USB to Serial 9-Pin Male Adaptor
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=zp43w&source=15&SD=Y
Serial Null Modem 9-Pin Female to 9-Pin Female
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=l71bt&source=15&SD=Y

I got the two in blanch for just under Eur50.

That's, exactly it, except, mine has holes instead of pins. Thanks for the reply, might go in tomorrow and pick them up in town!

Close the stblink and open it again or just try and click on reconnect com and click the correct port. A bit of messing around and you will get it back.

I dunno man, if you got it once you should be able to get it again.

Maybe plug everything out and try again?

Have you upgraded your firmware? If so you should download one of the lads favourites files and you will have all the channels organised correctly and all you will have to do is rename the favourites. You will need the cables etc. to do that tho.

I presume you are using a usb to 9 pin adapter? anyway you'll need to set the com port from your usb to com 1 or 2, to do this:

    Do the following.

    START
    Right Click "MY COMPUTER"
    Choose "MANAGE"
In the resulting window, click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
In the right hand pane, click on the little plus sign beside "PORTS" in the right hand pane.
Right click on the USB Adapter (Should be something like "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM#)
    Choose "Properties"
    Click on "PORT SETTINGS" TAB
    Click on "ADVANCED"
Then you will see the COM Port Number Box. You should be able to change it there using the drop down box.
Try to set it to COM2
    Restart Windows

Set STBLink to COM2 & try to connect.

Are you leaving it set on a premium channel? It's the only way it will catch the codes.

If your laptop has a com port then you will not need a usb - 9pin.

Otherwise you will. You can pick one up in maplins @ Eur 35.

Novice99 told me before to turn my autoscan to off before connecting Replay lite to computer, maybe that's the problem.

So you go in to key manager, turn auto scan off, download software and turn autoscan back on.
