Wondering if anyone can help, we're planning to flash the replay ourselves as our flash buddy is faffing around timewise. We've got a grey lead which is 9pin both ends female, my partner reckons its a female to female serial lead it says on it E138961 chuan wei AWM 2789 VW-1 30v. Would this be Ok or do we need to get the one from Maplins which we bought before but took back when faffing friend said his mate would flash box for free. Or my boss has just bought a Euromax (i think) off ebay & has got a lead that came with it, he's offered to lend it to me but is unsure if it would be the right one. Do you think any of those leads might work & could we test it by using it to relay info from laptop to another laptop? Cash is tight these days, but if we've got to buy the one from maplins then s'pose would rather know sooner than later! Any guidance would be much appreciated. Big thanks to all of you that have helped so far!

Borrow the Eurovox lead as it will be a Null Modem Cable which you need.

And make sure your Laptop/PC has a 9 Pin serial port (Don't confuse that with the blue monitor port on Laptops) else you will need the USB to Serial adapter too.

Thanks for that, cos of the age of our laptops they will take the null modem cable straight off without having to use a usb, so that should be fine. have c+pasted as many tips & instructions as possible from here as well as downloaded the software onto the desktop, so hope this goes ok once we get that cable. I'm rubbish with computers, but other half is pretty good & seems to understand what to do, even though was mostly me posting here as I'd got the manual inputting down to a fine art, but I know it's time to stop that kerfuffle & give the job a go. Ta for your help again

The tool bar is on http://dejavue.toolbar.fm/ it's mentioned on a different thread. I don't really need it as I've flashed my box, but it sounds cool and would be handy to have if they start messing around with different codes again and we can't use the new software.

I'm not trying to unzip it, I just want to run it, but windows won't recognise it as a valid win 32 application. Do you know what software I need to run it, or do I need to adjust some settings on my internet explorer or what? Thanks.

XP. I downloaded a virus about six weeks ago when I was looking for codes and had to get my whole system wiped and reloaded so I'm a bit nervous about downloading anything that I don't know is safe. I scanned the toolbar with AVG and it says it's fine, but I don't really want to go searching for stuff unless I know it's been recommended. I have Internet Explorer and Firefox so can use either browser, doesn't matter which I set toolbar up for. Thanks.

Just google mozilla firefox, it's just another browser instead of internet explorer. Should be free to download. Some people say it's got better security than internet explorer, my kids won't use it cos it won't let them play xbox live or half of their games. But i've set the toolbar up on firefox now anyway, don't have it on internet explorer but it'll be handy if I ever need the codes again.

    Hi lads,
What revision year should be on the firmware when you check the system info on the starview after you update the firmware should it be 2007 or 2008???????

I'm sure you probably can play xbox live on it, I just have it set to tighter security settings and haven't bothered messing around with it cos I use internet explorer most of the time. Yeah have updated the replay a couple of weeks ago, working great, the epg is much better and the pic seems clearer as well. Just wanted to get the toolbar just in case they come up with something new and we can't get codes here anymore. I know it'll prob take them a few months but no harm in being cautious!
